This is an editorial illustration project I developed as part of a course, based on the Brothers Grimm's fairy tale "The Maiden Without Hands." The brief had some limitations—such as the number and formats of the illustrations, as well as the use of only two colors—but it allowed freedom in the choice of scenes, compositions, and palette.

From this, I decided to explore a different style than I usually work with, using the color limitation as a starting point to simplify the forms and give more prominence to the key moments of the narrative. As the story has a darker and more fantastical tone, I chose black and purple to help convey this atmosphere.
